Lovćen is a symbol of Montenegro and its freedom. At 1749m above sea level lies the Lovćen Mountain which was declared National Park in 1952.

On one of the peaks of Lovćen, Jezersko vrh, 1675m above sea level, there is a Mausoleum, where the bishop Petar II Petrović Njegoš, bishop, ruler, poet and one of the most important figures of Montenegrin history, is buried.
